ELGi introduces Air~Alert in Australia

ELGi recently announced the introduction of Air~Alert, an IoT-based Air Compressor Monitoring System, for the Australian market. This smart 24/7 remote monitoring and alert system is now available to ELGi’s customers in Australia for new and existing installations*.

A data transmission and analysis service, Air~Alert monitors critical parameters, and sends out insights and alerts to users. With these insights, customers can improve uptime and maximise efficiency with smart monitoring and data related to air compressor performance. The service also enables customers to act in time and avoid potential failures. Additionally, Air~Alert enables 24/7 remote monitoring of the air compressor. It delivers trend graphs and information about operating parameters, including discharge pressure, oil temperature, variable frequency drive (VFD) speed (where fitted), total running hours, trips, and alerts on a live online interface accessible remotely from anywhere in the world.

Air~Alert can also notify Pulford and the customer about scheduled maintenance and fault occurrences while predicting commonly occurring failures. Monthly summary reports on overall health and operating parameters, including upcoming service requirements and preventative maintenance based on the data obtained, can then be sent to customers.

Air~Alert gathers the operational and performance data from the compressor controller, it is then transmitted in an encrypted form, and sent to secure and dedicated Air~Alert servers in the cloud. Smart algorithms then work on the data to enable intelligent prediction with actionable alerts, reports, and trends – which are returned securely to the operators as easy-to-read actionable dashboards.

*The Air~Alert device can be factory-fitted on new ELGi EG, AB, and OF Series compressors or retrofitted on units with a Neuron III, III+, or IV controller.

ELGi launches world-class warranty programme

ELGi Equipments Australia recently launched a world-class 5-year warranty programme for its EGRD series of non-cyclic refrigerated dryers.

ELGi Equipments is renowned for having some of the most extensive standard warranty programmes in the industry across its oil-free and oil-lubricated screw compressor range. The company introduced extended warranty programmes some years ago. Most recently ELGi launched a world-class 5-year warranty programmes for its EGRD series of non-cyclic refrigerated dryers in Australia.

ELGi’s world-class warranty programme in Australia includes;

EN series, 2.2 – 22 kW Oil-lubricated screw compressors

6-year warranty on the airend
5-year warranty on the entire compressor package, including: motor, cooler, separator tank, fan motor, and controller

EG series, 11 – 250 kW Oil-lubricated screw compressors

10-year warranty on the airend
5-year warranty on the entire compressor package, including: motor, cooler, separator tank, fan motor, and controller

AB series, 11 – 110 kW Oil-free screw compressors

5-year warranty on the airend
5-year warranty on the compressor package, including: motor, water cooler and after cooler, separator tank, fan motor, and controller

OF series, 45-450 kW Oil-free screw compressors

4-year warranty on the airend
2-year warranty on the compressor package, including: main motor, LOP motor, fan motor, intercooler, after cooler, oil cooler and controller

And, when it comes to compressed air accessories, ELGi Australia offers a 10-year warranty on the filter housing of the AF series downstream filter range, and now also provides a 5-year warranty on the EGRD series non-cyclic refrigerated dryers, which includes refrigerant compressor, heat exchanger, condenser, and controller.

Safety gains

Every year mines across the country encounter numerous stoppages in production due to ‘hot tyre’ events, which can lead to tyre fires or explosions, resulting in potentially catastrophic consequences such as personal injury to loss of life. By filling tyres with nitrogen and reducing the amount of oxygen in the tyre to less than 5.5 percent, Pulford’s Nitrogen Tyre Inflation System can prevent a tyre explosion or fire, from internal and external heat sources or from electrification. This provides mine site operators with more confidence that their trucks will offer greater safety in the case of a ‘hot tyre’ event.

Productivity, cost saving and efficiency gains

Keeping equipment downtime to a minimum is essential when it comes to improving productivity and reducing costs. With the elimination of catastrophic tyre explosions, the standard 24-hour park up rule could be changed dependent on the type of ‘hot tyre’ incident. The result, a reduction in downtime from hot tyre events.

Pulford’s Nitrogen Tyre Inflation System offers rim protection from oxidisation, eliminating the cost of buying sealants and taking trucks off the road for this maintenance requirement. Nitrogen additionally improves tyre pressure retention, contributing to a safer running tyre, as well as improving fuel economy. The tyres also have a longer life, reducing tyre consumption and disposal for a clear environmental advantage.

Every Pulford Nitrogen Tyre Inflation System is tailored to meet the customer’s specific application and site requirements. For ease of installation and maximum flexibility, the system is fully containerised making it easy to move to a new location if required.

An efficient on-site solution, the Nitrogen Tyre Inflation System from Pulford has been designed and developed with Australian conditions in mind. The system can be matched to specific fleet sizes and truck types, and it can be designed for any range or application from 1 m3/hr up to 3000 m3/hr, offering faster tyre inflation than most conventional systems. The inclusion of a large storage vessel ensures the system can instantly inflate up to two 57” tyres and offers fast recharge times for multiple inflations. Pulford’s system produce over 98 per cent purity for single inflation fills, with no need to double inflate.
