Pulford Air & Gas has been serving the Australian industrial market since 1925, when Frank Pulford produced Model 10, the first Australian designed air compressor. Since that time, Pulford has grown to become a leading compressed air and gas generation systems supplier, recognised for delivering reliable, efficient and quality products and services.

    Pulford Air & Gas celebrates its 98th year of serving the Australian industry

  • 2018

    ELGi Equipments Limited, one of the world’s leading air compressor manufacturers acquires Pulford, making a strategic entry into the Australian market

  • 2015

    Pulford acquires Advanced Air Compressors and becomes the largest independent air compressor and gas generation company on the East Coast of Australia

  • 2010

    Pulford relaunches as Pulford Air & Gas unveiling a new direction whilst acknowledging the company’s long history

  • 2000

    First Australian made nitrogen tyre inflation system is sold to transportation company for truck tyre filling

  • 1996

    The ZP series rotary screw compressor is designed, launched and manufactured at the Botany Plant, NSW

  • 1979

    Rotary screw compressors are added to the product portfolio

  • 1969

    Pulford begins importing reciprocating air cooled compressors

  • 1959

    Model 85 & 90 of the water cooled compressor is reproduced making it the largest ever to be designed and manufactured locally

  • 1948

    Model 80, the largest water-cooled compressor ever produced in Australia is manufactured

  • 1942

    Model 60, the first water-cooled compressor is manufactured

  • 1940

    Large contract won to produce compressors for the Australian and US armies during World War II – Model 30 was produced as a portable unit

    Frank Pulford produces Model 10, the first Australian designed air compressor
